I'll Never See Snow Again

For seven long years I lived in the cold and the ice and the snow and the sleet
September to May - I was cold every day - numb in my fingers and numb in my feet
Up every morning - curse while I'm yawning - drowning each evening with beer
Couldn't wait to get out of there -- and finally wind up back here
And I'll never see snow again
     I'll never see snow again
I finally got sprung from that midwestern pen
And I'll never see snow again

I've traded coughs and sneezes for tropical breezes and pasty white skin for a tan
I'll never again go out for the mail, slip on an ice sheet and fracture my can
Now I bask in the sun and enjoy all the fun that a tropical climate can bring
Cold beer and seafood , warm blue skies -- and you know that the best thing ... is that
     I'll never see snow again
     I'll never see snow again
I finally got sprung from that midwestern pen
And I'll never see snow again

Solo

Of course no place is paradise, there are problems down here too
Roaches and skeeters - insane bible-beaters - all of the damage that tourists can do
But it's ever so great to live in a state that doesn't collect income tax
Where southern hospitality still exists - and I'm so glad to be back - where
     I'll never see snow again
     I'll never see snow again
I finally got sprung from that midwestern pen
And I'll never see snow again
