About Me

The Blues speaks to me. Why? Because the Blues has historically been a powerful means to address with the stuff we deal with every day: work, play, love, sex, alcohol, beliefs, feelings and life in general. Sure ... I look at the world through skeptical eyes, but what do you expect from someone who spent as much money and time as I did to discover that plumbers make more money than college professors (or bluesmen)? For some people life is a constant choice between crying and laughing ... when something happens to me, I write a song about it.

When I first picked up a guitar (backwards, as it turned out) in the early 1980's, I never really moved beyond pounding out a few chords. When I moved to Texas in the early 90's, I discovered the Blues. I learned that Blues is a unique form of American music, and my goal is to present it as honestly and authentically as possible (in my own warped way).

In my live show, I enjoy paying tribute to the classic bluesmen, such as B.B. King, Albert King, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Willie Dixon, Louie Jordan, Son Seals and Muddy Waters. I also tip my hat to modern bluesmen like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Little Charlie & The Nightcats, Coco Montoya and Magic Slim & The Teardrops. In addition to covering the classics, I also like to include my own decompositions in the show. I call it "Blues With A Sense Of Humor"™ (and perhaps a bit of thought as well).

Even if you don't know it, you're familiar with The Blues. Muddy Waters said it best: "The blues had a baby, and they named it Rock & Roll".

So get in touch with me, and I'll Play The Blues For You!
